Can someone please explain to me different types of hosting that are available, like shared and reseller and VPS. It's all very confusing.

The best way to know for sure is to do a traffic and space assessment along with looking at your marketing plan. Since it can be difficult to more a dynamic website, it's best to plan up. For static sites this isn't much an issue.
