More Leads from Your Business Website

Concerned that while traffic to your business website is growing but you aren't collecting more leads? This is a common challenge I help clients address. Here are several actions to take that increase the number of leads from your business website:

  1. Reduce bounce rate from lead sources. While your UVD is low, focus on reducing bounce rate and increasing time on site. These measures tell you visitor interest levels.
  2. Test against top referrals to increase visitor volume. For every top referral add something to your marketing on another site to diversify this growth.
  3. Simplify design to capture interested leads. If you aren't getting prospective buyers, try to at least capture the names of interested parties.
  4. Build generic lists in your market. Use other sites to capture the names of pre-leads, not ready to do business right now, but interested in your solutions.
  5. Expand content and advertising around top keywords. Search keywords tell you what visitors are using to find you, use content around long tail keywords to attract more.

These optimization strategies will increase contextual relevance for visitors. As you build up traffic (toward 500 UVD) optimize these channels again, but right now you want stability in lead generation.

Without a volume of quality visitors your business website will not noticably attract leads. You won't have enough visitors to test copy, and will have a limited return on your investment. Choose a handful of strategies, focus on making them work well, then test new methods after you have 5 proven lead generation winners.

The biggest challenge I see with clients is they jump around trying different things, never really squeezing maximium results out of what they are already doing. By helping them focus, I help them generate more qualified leads from their business website.
